More Info

The debut album from Tip Top Recordings co-founder, David Warn’s solo project Divan Draw in collaboration with Rob Gregory’s Tip Top roster and BBC 6 Music favourites The British Public.

Backing vocals come from Grace Kuhl of The Kuhls on lead single ‘Silhouette’ and on four album tracks from the talented Autumn Smith. All songs are written by David Warn and the album is an ode to his wife Autumn Smith, his chil- dren, the move he made across the Atlantic from his and Tip Top’s Cambridge home in the UK to Chicago where all of the album tracks were written between 2014-2019.

Blending the best of UK and US indie-pop, shoe gaze, and quirky beats and sub- ject matter, Divan Draw and The British public have delivered a perfect escape and throwback to carefree, halcyon days.

On The British Public “Nirvana-shaped demons hiding in the closet”

Artrocker

“What Message In A Bottle by the Police would sound like if played by Nirva- na. It’s actually the British Public...triumphant.” Stuart Maconie, BBC 6 Music

“All riffs and wry eyebrows...The best bits of 90s alt-rock. As I contemplate the killer hooks, the buzzing feedback, the wry lyricism, the vocal dead-eyed stare ... it’s brilliant!” Jon Hillcock (New Noise- BBC 6 Music)

“Tip top tunes” John Kennedy (Radio X)
On The Kuhls: “Oh, this is a great record”
Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music
