With that mission accomplished, Odgers returned to his own writing and touring, with no plans to revisit the idea.\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e However, four years and seven months later, on the morning of 6 November 2024,\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ewhen\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eOdgers heard the newsreader announce that Donald Trump had won the US presidential election for a second time, he knew\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eit was time to return to the work of Phil Ochs. The result is\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eThe War Is Over\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e— a collection shaped by world events, steeped in\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eanti\u003cspan class=\"s2\"\u003e‑\u003c\/span\u003ewar\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ethemes, and filled with stories of struggle and resistance.\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e The album was completed exactly fifty years after Phil Ochs took his own life.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eHis songs\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eremain\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003epowerful,\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eurgent\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eand sadly as relevant today as when they were written.\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e Phil Ochs died on 9 April 1976 in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York.
