A keenly awaited re-press of King’s debut and most successful album Steps In Time. This 17 track CD features the ten original tracks of the album plus seven bonus tracks.
The album peaked at number 6 in the UK charts.
Originally released in 1985, the album contains two hit singles, ‘Love & Pride’ (# 2), and ‘Won’t You Hold My Hand Now’ (# 24).
Seven bonus tracks are included on this CD, featuring the 12″ versions ‘Love & Pride’ (Body & Soul Mix), two mixes of ‘Won’t You Hold My Hand Now’ (Heavy Times Mix and Youth Mix) and four b/sides ‘Don’t Stop’, ‘Classic Strangers’, ‘Endlessly’ and ‘Never Ending’.

Under the watchful management eye of the co- founder of i-D magazine and influential face on the London club scene Perry Haines, King hit the charts with ‘Love And Pride’, reaching number 2 in January 1985. Produced by Richard James Burgess of Landscape fame, the band went on to deliver their unique blend of rock/funk/pop to the masses with their uniform of Doc Martins, bright suits and distinctive hairstyles. The band released two albums, “Steps In Time” and “Bitter Sweet” before Paul King chose the option to go solo.
