Fonkynson reinvents himself through more personal productions that are as dancefloor-friendly as ever.
With his second album Falling, Fonkynson, the alter ego of Valentin Huchon, stakes a claim as one of Montreal’s worthiest representatives of future house. After the success of his first release, Follow Me, he reinvents himself through more personal productions that are as dancefloor-friendly as ever. His production techniques have evolved; the musician now incorporates analog instruments, vocals, and turntablism into his compositions.
He collaborated with talented local rising stars, like Torontonian Desiire, vocalists Kosa and Vaness, as well as Montrealer Laurence Giroux-Do (lead singer for Le Couleur). The nine tracks point to a blending of musical styles, harnessed to make a pop-house opus, the fruit of two years of work.
