The third in our series of reproduction singles, with tasteful label colour changes, comes from the Hyperions with their magnificent 1965 Chatahoochie waxing ‘Why You Wanna Treat Me Like You Do’. This atmospheric Northern Soul newie has been entertaining people for twenty years, since its first plays by Irish Greg down the 100 Club. Unbeknown to many, not surprisingly as it’s a £1,000 + record.
The flip, ‘Believe In Me’, is a superb ballad, perfect for the Lowrider soul fans who are so eager for new, old music these days.
