More Info
Charlie Parker has established himself as one of the greatest creators of jazz, a genius of improvisation. It brought the emotion of the blues to its point of glow. He reinvented the blues, playing on transition chords and reversals to develop new harmonic lines. He had such a powerful breath that he could play louder than the other violists and carry an entire orchestra in its tone. The strength of his genius was coupled with a shadow, an inner tragedy that eventually prevailed prematurely but which imbued his game with a sensibility on the surface that he exalts to the end of emotion, to the end of his own existence.

Between 1950 and 1953, Charlie Parker produced a series of recordings that would revolutionize the world of jazz. These 24 tracks are to Jazz what the Bach Preludes are to classical music.
