More Info

Norman Smith… Hurricane Smith or Normal to John Lennon. Producer and Engineer to both the Beatles and Pink Floyd.

A legend in the industry and a performer of a number of hits in his own right. ‘Don’t Let it Die’ was a massive hit and won him an Ivor Novello award, this after The Beatles may or may not have turned it down because it was a little too complicated for Ringo to sing!

His style was varied from the vaudeville of his youth to more contemporary influences of the late 60’s and early 70’s.

This compilation brings collates two albums: “Hurricane Smith” – released in Northern America / Germany and “Don’t Let it Die” – released in the UK / the rest of Europe / Japan and Australia. This CD includes the singles ‘Don’t Let it Die’, ‘Oh Babe What Would You Say?’, ‘Who Was It?’ and ‘My Mother Was Her Name’.

Hurricane Smith will obviously be of interest to Beatles and Pink Floyd fans but he has a large cult following of his own.

Gorgeous booklet featuring exclusive sleeve-notes and lots of memorabilia and shots of some rare and foreign singles.
